UpdateYour Content Regularly and Frequently

The number one purpose of RSS feeds is to get the latest content to your reader fresh and quick. However, if your website or blog is not updated regularly or if indeed in a regular manner but just about quarterly then the purpose of RSS feeds is pretty much defeated. In the case of a quarterly or annual updating of a website you might just want to send newsletters to subscribers or have a press release. Sure an RSS feed will also work but unless your website has content that’s really vital to your users than most probably your users won’t even bother subscribing to your feeds. If they do there’s a very great chance that they’ll end up deleting the subscription after weeks or months of silence.

Regularity is also important since it can be irritating for some subscriber to get inconsistent feeds. For example you might not update this week and then the next week update every single day or more than once in a day before going through another dry phase. This would leave your subscribers alternately bored and busy. It is a good idea to pace your updates so that your readers will always have something to read in a consistent basis.
